4minute’s HyunA and Jihyun recently revealed that the hardships involved in being an idol makes them think about quitting the industry.

During an episode of “Bouquet“, when MC Kim Yong Man and Jung Hyung Don asked 4minute, “Was there ever a time when you wanted to quit being an idol?” Jihyun replied, “When I miss my parents.”

In particular, HyunA added, “When it’s my or their birthday, or during a festive day, my heart rips thinking about not being with them.” Other girl group members agreed to this and expressed their apologies to their parents.

Kpop groups in Korea enjoys fame and limelight, however members are being tormented by their long list of schedules for appearances, events and performances. From what i know, the best support they could have is from one another; the synergy involved in the group is important as it holds them together, the next best thing is the ever-growing support from their fans. Being able to meet parents once a month is considered very lucky for these young and well-known performers. Quoting from an exclusive interview hosted by Snsdkorean with SNSD’s Taeyeon’s Mum, when being asked how often does she meets Taeyeon, she replied, “Sometimes once a month, but TaeYeon is so busy sometimes that it’s not possible. If I do, it’s 2 hours at the most, just to change the bedsheet covers or to have a small chat.” Idols in Korea definitely enjoy the benefits of being famous, but think about how much they have to sacrifice in order to reach where they are today.
