Clara C named as an up-and-coming artist for 2011
She came out victorious in Los Angeles’ Kollaboration 2010, KAC Media Juice Night, and ISA 2009. She performed “God Bless America” in front of thousands of viewers for the Korean Music Festival, which was held at the Hollywood Bowl in May 2010. She promoted her new album “Art in My Heart” across a handful of university campuses (Loyola Marymount University, UCLA, UCSD, USC, and Cornell University, to name a few) and was recently featured at the JOYA Scholars Benefit Concert in Fullerton, California.
Now, Clara Chung (stylized Clara C) is being recognized by local newspapers for her work. Bob Leggett from the “Los Feliz Examiner” included Clara on a list of 20 indie artists to watch out for in 2011. He acknowledged her talent as well as her immense popularity amongst internet viewers: “With a huge YouTube following, this songstress is ready to burst upon the scene.”
But even with a following of more than 80,000 subscribers, Clara remains down-to-earth: “Talent is God-given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful.” Clara is levelheaded regardless of her success, serving as an inspiration for those around her. She has previously stated that she is a fan of artists such as Coldplay, Sara Bareilles, and Feist.
